We are looking for a courteous, customer-focused Deli Clerk. Deli Clerks will clean and prepare workstations and displays, answer questions and respond to customer request and provide information to guest to ensure that they select the products that best fit their needs.

Deli Clerk Responsibilities:

• Provide responsive, exceptional service to deli counter customers by answering questions, making recommendations, providing samples and responding to request
• Recommending, slicing, weighing, packaging and pricing meats and cheeses.
• Preparing special orders and party trays.
• Updating displays, cases and other customer-facing areas to ensure new items and promotions are showcased.
• Ensure that work areas are ready to service customers.
• Follow all safety & sanitation procedures for food established by the company and other regulatory agencies.

Provides premier customer service, including greeting customers and answering their questions.

Responsibilities:

• Ices, decorates, packages, labels, and prices products for island refrigerator cases.
• Ices, decorates, trays, and maintains product in freezer and refrigerated showcases.
• Fills customer special orders, including wedding cakes.
• Sells products by providing customers with information needed to make product-related decisions.
• Operates the Bakery department mixer.
• Follows guidelines for cake decorators and maintains high standards for product freshness and sanitation.
• Organizes and rotates stock in the Decorator's freezer.
• Trains other associates as needed.
• Assists with the delivery and setup of wedding cakes as needed.
• Assists in other duties as assigned.

Salary: $15.00 to $17.00 /hour

Experience: Cake Decorating: 3 years (Preferred)

• Manage daily activities of employees to improve sales performance.
• Supervise employees in various duties such as cooking, serving, packaging, and operating counters.
• Manage product storage, maintenance and rotation activities to avoid any damages or spoilages.
• Analyze profit and loss statements and recommend improvements to meet department goals.
• Schedule and assign works for associates on daily basis.
• Assist in interviewing, hiring and training associates.
• Provide training to staff on company policies and sales guidelines.
• Respond to queries and complaints from both customer and employee.
• Ensure employees follow company policies and store rules.
• Coordinate with employees to operate the Deli store to achieve sales goals.
• Develop sales promotion programs to attract more customers.
• Ensure that products are properly labeled with prices and dates.
• Monitor and maintain stock inventory levels to avoid over and under stock problems.
• Interact politely with clients while solving problems related to sales, dissatisfied service and issues regarding store operation.
• Operate all food preparation machines and equipment.
• Receive, unload and stock the food items.
• Ensure that facility is maintained neat, clean and safe.

Starting Salary: $18 to 20 an hour
