Who We Are
Green Valley Marketplace is operated by B. Green & Company, Inc., a family-owned business based in Baltimore, Maryland. This policy explains what information we collect through greenvalleymarketplace.com, our Easy Entertaining online store, and our GV Rewards program, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
This policy covers our website and the online services we link to from it. It does not change any separate notice we give you in one of our stores.
Information We Collect
Information you give us. When you contact us, join our email club, sign up for GV Rewards, create a store account, place an order, enter a promotion, or apply for a job, we collect what you provide. Depending on what you are doing, that can include your name, email address, phone number, billing and pickup address, the contents of your order or message, and—for job applications—employment and education history, references, and identification details.
Information we collect automatically. When you visit our site we collect your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how long you spend on them, and how you arrived at the site.
Purchase information. If you take part in GV Rewards, your in-store purchases are recorded against your rewards account so we can award points and offers. See the GV Rewards section below.
GV Rewards
Our GV Rewards program is operated for us by AppCard. You can join at the register, through the AppCard app, or by texting GVM to 87573. You do not need to join GV Rewards to shop with us or to get our advertised sale prices.
If you join, AppCard collects the contact details you provide and records the items you buy in our stores, so that it can calculate points, issue rewards and offers, and—if you opt in—send you digital receipts. This purchase history is tied to your rewards account. AppCard processes this information under its own privacy policy, available at appcard.com/privacy-policy. When you view your rewards on our My Account page, that page is supplied by AppCard.
GV Rewards is a loyalty program that gives you points, discounts, and offers in return for taking part. If you no longer want to take part, you can stop using the program or ask us to close your rewards account using the contact details below. Points and rewards expire after an account has gone unused for six months.
Online Ordering and Delivery
Our Green Valley To Go grocery ordering service is provided through Freshop, at greenvalleymarketplace.freshopsite.com. When you place an order there, Freshop collects the information needed to process it and operates under its own privacy policy.
If you choose delivery, your order is delivered by DoorDash, and the information needed to complete the delivery—such as your name, address, and phone number—is shared with them. DoorDash handles that information under its own privacy policy.
Easy Entertaining Store
Our Easy Entertaining store takes catering and party orders for pickup. If you create an account there, we store your account details and order history so you can sign in and reorder.
Payments and Card Information
Orders placed through our Easy Entertaining store are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor.
When you pay, your card details are entered directly into secure fields provided and hosted by Stripe. Green Valley Marketplace does not receive or store your full card number, expiration date, or security code. We receive only a confirmation of payment and a limited reference, such as the card brand and last four digits, so we can identify your order and process any refund.
To process your payment, Stripe receives information including your name, billing address, email address, phone number, order amount and contents, and technical information such as your IP address and device details, which Stripe uses to verify the payment and detect fraud. Stripe handles this information under its own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy.
Saving a card for next time. If you choose to save a payment method to your account, Stripe stores the card and provides us with a secure token that stands in for it. We never hold the card number itself. You can view and remove saved payment methods at any time under My Account → Payment Methods, or by contacting us.
Other ways to pay. Checkout may offer additional payment options such as Stripe Link or a digital wallet, depending on your device and browser. Choosing one of these means the payment is handled by that provider under its own terms and privacy policy, and it may share your name, email, and billing or shipping address with us to complete your order.
Email and Text Messages
If you join our email club, we use Constant Contact to send deals, recipes, and store news. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email.
If you sign up for GV Rewards by text message, message and data rates may apply, and you can stop messages by replying STOP. Those messages are sent through AppCard.
Cookies and Your Choices
We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies on this site. Cookies are small files stored on your device that help the site function, remember your preferences, and measure how the site is used.
Some cookies are necessary for the site to work at all — keeping items in your cart, keeping you signed in, and processing your order. Others support analytics and performance measurement.
We use CookieYes, a consent management service, to present a cookie banner and record your preferences. You can open the cookie settings link on the site at any time to review or change your selection. Your choice is stored in a cookie on your device so we do not have to ask again on every page.
Analytics and Site Improvement
We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand which pages are visited and how the site performs.
We also use Microsoft Clarity, which records how visitors interact with our pages — including mouse movement, scrolling, clicks, and page navigation — and combines this into session replays and heatmaps. We use this to find layout problems and improve the site. Clarity processes this information under Microsoft's privacy terms.
Advertising
We do not currently run advertising or retargeting pixels on this website. If that changes, we will update this policy and the cookie categories offered in our cookie banner.
How We Share Information
We share personal information with service providers who perform work on our behalf, and only as needed for them to do that work. These include the providers named above — AppCard, Freshop, DoorDash, Stripe, Constant Contact, Google, Microsoft, and CookieYes — along with our website hosting and email providers.
We may also disclose information when required by law, in response to lawful requests from public authorities, or to protect our rights, our customers, or the safety of others. If our business is sold or reorganized, customer information may transfer as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Some state privacy laws define "sale" and "sharing" broadly enough to include the use of analytics and similar technologies. You can limit those technologies at any time through the cookie settings link on our site, or by contacting us using the details below.
How We Protect Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold, including encrypted connections across our website and payment pages. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy — for example, to fulfill your order, operate your rewards account, answer your question, or consider your job application — and for as long afterwards as we are required to keep it for tax, accounting, employment, or other legal reasons. When we no longer need it, we delete it or remove the details that identify you.
Children's Privacy
Our website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your Choices and Your Rights
You can:
- Unsubscribe from our marketing emails using the link in any email, or reply STOP to marketing text messages.
- Change your cookie preferences at any time using the cookie settings link on our site.
- Remove saved payment methods in your Easy Entertaining account.
- Ask us to close your GV Rewards account.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to appeal if we decline your request. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will need to verify your identity before we act on a request, and we will not treat you differently for making one.
Other Websites
Our site links to services operated by others, including our online ordering and rewards partners, and to social media pages. This policy does not apply to those services. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit from ours.
Employment Applications
If you apply for a position through our site, we use the information you provide only to evaluate your application and, if you are hired, to begin the employment process. We share it only with those involved in the hiring decision and with service providers who help us process applications.
